Gramercy News July 2016

Welcome to the first Gramercy community blog post.  We will post monthly news beginning with this first publication August 1, 2016. We are happy to have you as residents at Gramercy Lofts and Cottages and we look forward to continued improvements in the coming months and years.

Yoga Classes

  • Yoga classes began October 6, 2016 @ 5:30 pm. Classes will continue through the year at 5:30 pm each Tuesday and Thursday. Hot Yoga on Thursday night's.
  • Classes are free for all residents who present a key fob and friends of residents can join for a $5 fee each session. Classes will be held at 3404 SE Nova Clubhouse on the West end of the Cottages. Use the West door and parking on that side or just walk on over.
  • Karen Taylor will lead the classes. Individual instruction can also be scheduled with Karen. Call or text her at 918-331-6004.

Community Garden

You may have noticed three raised boxes on the east end of the park. We are in the process of installing garden soil and planning our fall planting for the community garden. We will post rules for planting, maintaining, and harvesting in the gardens in our September newsletter.

“The first supermarket supposedly appeared on the American landscape in 1946...Until then, where was all the food? Dear folks, the food was in homes, gardens, local fields, and forests. It was near kitchens, near tables, near bedsides. It was in the pantry, the cellar, the backyard.”

Bikes

Also, coming in July,  we will offer free bike services. Bikes will be stored in the West Gym safe room and can be checked out on a sign out sheet that will be left at the Clubhouse for folks who want to go for a bike ride in the neighborhood or Pathfinder Parkway.

Safe Room

We are proud to announce that we now have a tornado safe room located in the northeast corner of the West Clubhouse at 3404 SE Nova Ave. Access is by your gym key fob to either the East or West doors of the Clubhouse.

Firepit & Hammocks

More information forthcoming in future newsletters as these seasonal amenities are added and ready for use near the swing at the west end of the park.

Pool

Our dipping pool located at the North clubhouse will be open until September 18, 2016.  The pool with open again the week before Memorial Day 2017.

Gym

The West Clubhouse Gym will be opening September 1, 2016. There is a nice wood gym floor in the main space and we'll still have the North gym available to use with exercise equipment. The West gym will mainly be used as open space for yoga and stretching and activities requiring more space than we have in the North gym.

“I'm so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers.”

L.M. Montgomery, Anne of Green Gables

I can smell autumn dancing in the breeze. Falling leaves, sweaters, boots, football, pumpkins and coffee. Halloween is near and the holidays will be rolling in behind. There is a hint of autumn in the air that reminds me of the crisp sweet edges of my grandmothers apple pie. Speaking of edgy and what one might do after eating too much apple pie, we have a new Peloton fitness bike in the 2019 clubhouse gym.

Give it a try sometime. Call Lea at 918-333-3500 or Brent at 918-331-6002 to get the password and then jump on and give it a go by taking a ride in the Grand Canyon or go to New York City by logging into an online class.

We also have two mountain bikes located in the clubhouse gym for tenants who are 18 or older or 14 and over if accompanied by a parent. Please notice the property rules posted in the clubhouse, for use of the gym and the mountain bikes.  Please wear the helmets, either one provided or one of your own. Your safety is our main concern.

Glad to see people making good use of the garden boxes.  Those are available for all to take part in and enjoy. We are still developing general usage rules, but just find a spot and mark it as your own and keep it tended and picked as produce grows and ripens.

Soon we will begin construction on the next phase at Gramercy.  Several new cottages will be built at the south side. We also look to add more green space including a garden building, more trails, and perhaps a putting green.

We will provide more information on the build out in future newsletters.

Thanks for helping make your Gramercy Community a great place to live!
